Hello

Andy on digger during landscaping job

Welcome to Andy’s Landscape Gardening

At the end of 2019 I was made redundant and having been in the same job for over 25 years, I decided that the time was as good as any, to change career.

I was an Electrical Design Engineer, commuting into London, across the UK and overseas. I’d had enough of the grinding commute into London and working in an office all day.

But, what could I do instead?

Well, I had been toying with the idea of starting an orchard and then producing craft cider but, realised that it would be many years before the orchard would be able to start producing enough apples which could be turned into cider.

As I have always enjoyed gardening and doing some major projects to our gardens in the past, I thought that this would be a great opportunity to take forward the many skills that I have learnt and acquired over the years and then to combine these with my passion and love of gardening.

So here I am, embarking on my very first business...Andy’s Landscape Gardening!

Challenging beginnings

I had set the business up at the start of 2020 and was starting to pick some work up, but then the dreaded Covid-19 virus hit the UK and the subsequent first lockdown ensured, a month later. This was unfortunate timing for me, as many people were then stuck at home and were able to work their magic on their own gardens.

After the first lockdown ended, I was fortunate to be able start bringing work in and finding some loyal clients who have retained me through the subsequent lockdowns and restrictions and are still with me today.

And now the business has grown and is thriving…
