Bespoke Decking, Pergola and Path

A lovely couple in Wixhams, Bedfordshire, asked me if I could help them transform their back garden. They were fed up with their lawn looking substandard, which is often the case on housing estates.

The brief

What they were looking for was a raised decked area, where they could sit and relax in the evening sun, with a path leading up to it from the back patio. To add to this, they also wanted a pergola so that they could transplant some of their plants and grow them over the pergola.

I came up with a design, that they were happy with, and then got cracking.

A path was first dug out, so that we knew where the raised decking would be located. MOT1 type hardcore was laid in and compacted down, with gravel laid on top. The poles for the pergola were then made and concreted in, as some of them were also to be used as supports for the decking. The decking frame was made and finished off with grooved boards.

The pergola was then finished off with bespoke made beams and cross beams, to complete the look of the newly created garden features. This project totally transformed the look of the garden, to the clients’ delight.
